Unisys showcases quantum innovations at new U.K. research hub

Unisys demonstrated its quantum computing advances at the inauguration of the U.K.’s National Quantum Computing Center's (NQCC) new facility and headquarters on October 25. This invitation-only event brought together quantum computing leaders and highlighted Britain's expanding capabilities in quantum technology.

The NQCC is the U.K. government's primary body for advancing national quantum computing efforts. Lord Patrick Vallance, minister of state for science, research and innovation, led the inauguration ceremonies.

The event brought together key government, academia and industry stakeholders, showcasing Unisys contributions to quantum computing development. The NQCC specifically requested Unisys to showcase its quantum research and development activities, including:

  • A feasibility study with U.K. Innovate focused on airline logistics optimization
  • A proof-of-concept demonstrating quantum machine learning applications in the financial sector

"Our quantum computing applications are delivering measurable improvements in real-world scenarios," said Salvatore Sinno, vice president of innovation, Enterprise Computing Solutions. "The NQCC facility provides valuable opportunities to advance these practical applications alongside the UK's leading quantum researchers."
